Join Our Team a CAD Designer
We are seeking a talented and experienced CAD Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software) and be skilled in mechanism design. You will be responsible for designing intricate parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet our standards for quality and performance.

About Us: Designhawk Innovations is a custom automation systems integrator. We work with manufacturers in and around Chicago to automate processes at their factories through the use of robotics and fixed automation solutions. We pride ourselves in building reliable machines and have an excellent track record with many repeat customers.
Responsibilities:
Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks CAD software.
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies, focusing on mechanisms, motors, actuators, grippers, and similar moveable components.
Apply machining practices and tolerances to ensure manufacturability and functionality of designs.
Select appropriate materials and components based on project requirements.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to refine designs and solve technical challenges.
Participate in prototype development and testing, providing design support as needed.
Maintain organized project documentation and design files.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; Technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
Proven hands-on experience (3+ years) in machining, assembly, automation, product development, or similar industry.
Strong aptitude for mechanical assembly and the ability to work with precision and attention to detail.
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Helps to have:
Knowledge of electrical panel layout and wiring, with experience in panel construction and schematic interpretation.
Familiarity with basic programming and troubleshooting of PLCs and HMIs is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge of machine tools (Mill, lathe, CNC, hand tools) or willingness to learn.
